Pizza Man
Even though I'm trying to cut down on my carb intake these days (good luck with that!), last night I had a massive craving for a decent pizza. It was around 8.30 pm and I wasn't in the mood to go to Salmiya and face the traffic jams. The home delivery options were limited to Pizza Hut, Domino's and Little Caesar's , none of which fit my definition of a great pizza.. (Americans reading this are either feeling right at home, or rolling their eyes at the strip-malling of Kuwait City!)..
I've had semi-decent pizzas at La Piazza and Biella, but I wanted one right then on the spot and didn't want to go through the whole ordeal of driving to a restaurant. I've seen ads and billboards for a new Pepe's Pizza (where is that anyway?) and I've driven next to the new one next to Marks & Spencer in Salmiya (forgot its name). Anyone know anything about them?
Of course, I'm always under the illusion that a thin-crust pizza contains less calories than a thick one. Anyway, I ended up not eating a pizza for dinner.. and just had a quick grilled cheese sandwich at home followed by a cold, juicy Alfonso mango.. so much for reducing carbs!
So who makes Kuwait's best pizza? Do we have anyone who comes close to this venerable institution?

I see you are on a pizza quest. The only way to find out is to go to each place one by one and taste their pizza. I recommend you take an expert, pref. a Penguin.

Bo Ghazi.. Pizza Express Salmiya was great when it opened, but then it went downhill with soggy crusts and watery toppings. The one in Dahia was bad from Day 1

- La Piazza
- 99 (pizza biljarjeer wilthooom)
- If you get a chance to visit the Hilton anytime soon, try their Indian pizza! Not pizza express at the hilton, but the actual hotel!

Maybe you should open up your own pizza place with a politics theme? Maybe a kharafi or barrak or saadoun style pizza! since u seem to take a big interest in politics!

Dominos Pizza is the best. Pizza Express used to be better. Johnny Carinos isnt bad at all also. Maybe my second fav here in Kuwait.

My advise for the best Pizza in town is at the Courtyard Hotel, at Il Forno!
I have yet to try the Pizza at the Movenpick, but it smells very right and the rest of their food is good too(forgot name of the restaurant).

Pizza Express is great, y'all! I actually like the one in Tha7ya more than the teeny-bopper joint in Salmiya. You should try their salmon pizza... absolument magnifique!
Alternatively, Pomodoro's Marylin Monroe pizza (madri shino its real name, but apparently, it was her favorite) is also nice and light.

Like the perfect sandwich the only perfect pizza is the one you make and bake yourself.
You pick and choose what kind of toppings you like, the right amount of paste, control the amount of sweetness in the dough and the kinds herbs and of course the C H E E S E...
How many times you order the best looking pizza and one ingredient that you just hate Kills the overall taste? Even though it sounded perfect on the menu. I know not everyone has the time or the cooking skills for a home made pizza, but its NOT that hard to do and actually its a lot of fun, the possibilities are endless...yes Nano even Rahash can be added if you want a dessert pizza made with Persian bread type of dough.
I love exotic pizzas, once I had a pizza with pecking duck meat, spring onions and plum sauce with no cheese ( I think it was from California pizza Kitchen )...was that a pizza? maybe not...but it tasted great.
So get some dough and start inventing your own pizza, you never know you might come up with the best Kuwaiti pizza known to man,woman and fat child

The best pizza in Kuwait comes from the one and only Tawa de Shwaikh at the Diwan Jna3at.
The crust is made of a traditional Shargawi flour-based mixture, crispy grilled to perfection. The topping consists of a heavenly blend of fresh eggs beaten with refined sugar.
I have had the privelage of trying it. If anyone here also had that privelage, please raise your hand.

You probably don't have it yet,but in the past year we have a new chain here called "East of Chicago".They make a really good pizza.Crust comes 3 ways,the regular one is very good.All of the other chains mentioned I won't eat,except for Domino's and only if it is all veggies and extra sauce.Try ordering once with extra sauce it really makes it 100% better.

نريد الإصلاح ? أين الإصلاح ? الحكومة غير جادة ? وفجأة ينقطع التيار الكهربائي ويستمر بالحديث أصلحوا الكهرباء ? هذا ما ورد على لسان أمين عام التكتل الوطني الذي سنبتلي بمثل هذه الأطروحات العقيمة للقادم من السنين في ندوة أقيمت قبل يومين وحضرها بعض من أعضاء هذا التكتل الهش والبالغ عددهم 300 شخص. لقد قلناها مرارا أن الكلام سهل جدا ولكن الرجال هي التي تفعل ولا تتكلم وتجعل إنجازاتها هي التي تتكلم عنهم.
حضرة الأمين العام للتكتل الوطني والذي لا نعرف إن كان توجهه لينينيا أو ماركسيا أو ماوتسي تونغيا وهو الخارج من رحم البورجوازية شخص ستكون على يديه نهاية كل ما بناه الليبراليون بالكويت لسبب واحد فقط وهو أنه شخص كثير الكلام عديم الانجازات. فهو مستشار للحكومة في الصباح ومنتقد للحكومة في المساء أي أنه ينتقد مساء رأيه الصباحي فكيف ينخدع مؤيدو التكتل بهكذا قيادة ( للعلم كلمة تكتل و قيادة أكبر بكثير مما نعني ولكن نستخدمها جوازا )
يا أخي إذا كنت من دعاة الإصلاح فلماذا لم نراك مرشحا لانتخابات مجلس الأمة أو حتى لانتخابات جمعية تعاونية لكي ترى مدى اهتمام المواطنين بشخصك وكيف ستنال الفشل الذريع في أي دائرة تختارها. طبعا الرد سيكون أن الوضع الحالي لا يشجع وأن الحكومة ستعمل ضد إسقاطه وستحارب وصوله إلى البرلمان و و و غيرها من الأعذار السمجة التي يكررها كل من يفشل بذلك ويغفلون أن السبب الرئيسي للإخفاق هو عدم قناعة الناس بهم كأشخاص في المقام الأول.
إن الأيام بيننا وستثبت حتى لليبراليين أنفسهم وخاصة للرعيل الأول منهم وهم من السياسيين المحنكين المخدوعين به أو المجبورين على بقائه لأسباب لا نعلمها أن هذا الأمين العام سينقلب عليهم وفقا لمصالحه الخاصة وتطلعاته الشخصية وهو الذي يريد الوصول إلى السلطة وخاصة التنفيذية بأي ثمن كان ودفع الغالي والثمين من اجل تلميع اسمه وصورته أمام أصحاب القرار لأهداف شخصية بحتة. وسترون العنصرية الكبيرة والفوقية التي يتعامل بها هذا الشخص مع بقية المواطنين تحت مسميات مألوفة للكويتيين مثل عيال بطنها وعيال الحمايل و و و و وغيرها من الاسطوانات الخافتة حاليا لغاية تحقق المصالح التي يعمل من أجلها.
حضرة الأمين العام للتكتل الوطني نراه دائما قريبا من عدسات الكاميرا في أي تجمع يتبادل حديثا هامسا مع من حوله لكي يبدو مهما وذو اطلاع على بواطن الأمور والأمر في مجمله لا يعدو تمثيلا لدور صدق صاحبه أنه حقيقة وأنه من قادة الرأي في هذا البلد المبتلي بهؤلاء الأشخاص الوصوليين والمتسلقين على أكتاف غيرهم.
ولأن الحقيقة لا تعرف غير لغة الأرقام فلنستعرض ما أنجزه التكتل تحت قيادته وبالتالي نكتشف أن التوجه الليبرالي لم يكن بتاريخ الكويت بهذا الضعف إلا بعدما تولى الأمين العام القيادة بل حتى أن التوجه قد خسر كرسيه التقليدي في مجلس الأمة عن الدائرة الثانية بعد أن كان مضمونا منذ 1992 وحتى 2003. وهذه الأرقام لا تعبر إلا عن حقيقة واحدة ومؤكدة وهي الفشل الذريع لتلك القيادة في حتى المحافظة على أبسط إنجازات التوجه والتي من المفترض بها أن يرتقى بها إلى الأعلى ولكنها سقطت إلى الهاوية.
نحن نعلم أن قيادات على شاكلة الدكتور الخطيب والمرحوم سامي المنيس ومن بعدهم عبدالله النيباري هم أشخاص عانوا الأمرين في سبيل النهج الليبرالي وعانوا الأمرين أيضا في حياتهم بسبب توجهاتهم تلك ولكن لأنهم أصحاب مبدأ فقد ثبتوا عليه ونالوا احترام الناس وتقديرهم وكان تكريم المواطنين لهم لأشخاصهم أولا ولتوجههم ثانيا وليس العكس ولكن عندما انقلب الحال وأصبحت القيادة لأشخاص عديمي الخبرة أولا والمعاناة ثانيا وصلنا إلى الوضع الحالي.
حضرة الأمين العام ? أرجوك أن تكرمنا بسكوتك أولا وتترك الفرصة لغيرك لو كانت لديك الشجاعة الأدبية في ذلك لأنك شخص لم ولن تعرف سوى الفشل الذريع حيث أنك تعرف أن عملك مرتبط بمصلحتك الشخصية والجميع يعرف ذلك ولكنك تظن أنهم لا يعرفون وأنت واهم في ذلك.
أخيرا دع الرجال تعمل بصمت وتحقق أهدافها وتجعل الأفعال أبلغ من الأقوال ودع عنك الضرب تحت الحزام وتصفية الحسابات وهذه نصيحة خاصة ولنا عودة في حال عدم سماع النصيحة

I must agree that probably the best pizza is one that you make at home-
And isn't it refreshing to see so many men not only interested in cooking but quite accomplished in the kitchen.

the best pizza i ever had was in milan. i don't know the name of the pizzeria, i don't know the address, and the place had only 3 tables. the pizza oven was ceramic or brick; something like that. i'd love to go back there sometime and find that pizzeria..

Biella is the best I've got so far. Villa pizza near marks and spencers in salmiya, is worse than the friggin irani pizzas you get in the roadside mataams. I can honestly say, even my dog back home will not eat villa pizza's pizza. Tacky Decor, terrible service, they got our order all wrong inspite of the place being empty AND to make things worse, the waitress was arguing that we paced the order wrong. BITCH!
