Of all the arguments for or against wearing the حجاب, this one has to be the most... um... original

I want to know if there is one direct verse in Quran about hijab as covering the hair as is known today, and don't refer me to Sunna, coz that does not count in my vocabulary, and I have my reasons, and don't want to elaborate here so I won't diversify from the main subject, I need a DIRECT VERSE no one yet has given me a satisfying answer. This question is to your readers Z.

Rabab, i havent researched on the Hijab yet, i too will only accept only what is found in the Quran, and will go to my English/Arabic Quran with translation & tafseer (its the King Fahad print & i really like how they've made the indeces subject wise and alphabetically).

AL-NOOR chapter 24 Verse(s) 24.31 And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed.
Bosom = The chest of a human, A womans breast or breasts
adornment = Something that beautifies or adorns; an ornament
If you tell me that hair doesnt beautify the women then you are clearly absurd.

Please re-read my question, I will rephrase it for you, I need a direct verse of Qoran about 7ijab as is known today. And yes hair does beautify women but not as much as her eyes do.

Rabab, God is not into fashion, he doesnt tell you how to wear your hijab. Heh you can wear a sock and make four holes in them for all that matters. Btw. the way the hijab is being worn today is yet another aya in the quran stating that what is being at present time was done before the quran or ayam il jahiliya. Umm and yeah the quran CLEARLY stated that you should wear a jilbab.. which means something close to a 3abaya.. Are you wearing a 3abaya ? :)
