28/1/05 7:52 PM

Put God's name on anything! Religion sells! God and Islam have a lot of brand equity, I'll tell ya.
28/1/05 8:46 PM
zaydoun....LOL!! This is hillarious! Im surprised I didnt see that earlier in F7ai7eel, ive been going there alot lately!
28/1/05 9:47 PM
I wonder how they cut hair? Do they cut hair the same way they pray? Do you have to make wudhu before cutting hair and do they face Mecca while cutting hair?
When it's time for prayer, will they make up advertisements saying, "this is the 9alat al-Dhuhr special, come while we're saying adhan and you're guaranteed 50% off!"
They're very limited in hair-care products because most of the gell and hair-care products are made in the West and that's 7aram.
How do they hire people? They don't have job applications, you just have to make shahada and that's it and your beard has to be a certain length. You're hired!!!
I wonder what the price range for this saloon is:
Jihad special: 20KD. This consists of shaving your head bald while keeping your beard full. Your beard is cleaned getting rid of all the food in your beard that you have consumed all month.
We will also give you a free scented key holder for your wanayt(pick-up truck). It's 7alal of course. Made in Saudi Arabia. This offer is void if you received your education from the United States or England. This offer is also void if you listen to English music and subscribe to satanic satellite stations.
Yawm il Qiyama special: 30KD. This is the end of the world special. If you shave off your beard and take a shower, it's the end of the world. We will gladly shave off your beard and give you a shower. We are not responsible for the actions of our barbers while we are giving you a shower.
An Islamic barbershop in Fahaheel? At least I know which places to avoid now. Thanks Zaydoun.
This Islamic barbershop might be funny looking, but considering the amount of terror these idiots are causing in Kuwait, I won't be surprised if the Kuwaiti Police arrest people from this barbershop in a couple of months.
28/1/05 10:09 PM
Hi Z,
I guess im the odd one out !what does the picture say?
28/1/05 10:52 PM
29/1/05 1:35 AM
Zaydoun,
Did you friend at least remove the sign?!
29/1/05 3:22 AM
I don't think so.. he would've been chased by a bunch of crazy bearded lunatics!
29/1/05 7:38 AM
so whats that got to do with f7e7eel. la7ad yt7acha 3an elf7a7eel.. malha she'3il.
29/1/05 1:37 PM
listen you guys you are pushing this WAY to far. If you hate the direction this country is going hmm i got a simple solution..LEAVE! i mean i know what your trying to say and belive me im not the religious type and im disagreeing so imagine. i mean they put an islamic barbershop SO WHAT! dont like it another solution DONT ENTER IT! my god it took me 3 nanoseconds to figure the solutions. just because you dont belive it what they do doesnt mean you have to ridicule them. Okay so there barbers that like to pray, okay so there different from your lifestyle since they pray everyday instead of partying like you guys. Now your saying they support terrorism, i cant belive you guys are actually analzying this incident. i do think that Kuwait is turning more dangerous by the minute by terrorism but doesnt mean i ridicule everything islamic. Bro7i kila i do wrong stuff and commit sins and now i have the guts to ridicule people who are deeply religious hmmm not me so ill leave you with this guys and here since i bet you want to party today and make fun of the islamics here is some alchohol and hashish
29/1/05 2:43 PM
Vintage.. the barber is located F7e7eel
Dark One (representing the Forces of Darkness, no doubt)... The issue here is calling a barber "Islamic" and REFUSING to shave beards and sideburns. It has nothing to with prayer vs. partying. A good Muslim who truly understands Islam would NEVER accept this nonsense!!
I dare you to tell me this is normal and not worthy of ridicule!
29/1/05 3:07 PM
طيب إيش رايكم بصالون نسائي بالسالمية للمحجبات فقط. والإعلان على الباب يمنع دخول الرجال والغير محجبات
29/1/05 3:29 PM
The Dark One,
It is true that ridicule and sarcasm should not be directed from either 'sectors' of our small society. Respect must be there, no one can argue over that. You had a point.
But, as time progresses we are noticing more and more of things only dedicated to 'Islamists' (not Muslims, Islamists!). Everything is being associated with religion now. The issue does not revolve around this barber's shop only (would be absurd to make a big fuss on a sign in the street). Can't you notice that the society is being pushed towards segregation? The gap is growing larger and larger between Liberals and Islamists. Now, THIS is what we can call ridiculous, but it's not something to dismiss. It may cause loads of problems in the v. near future, if not at the present time.
Whether if it's a conspiracy or things happening simultaneously, we can't afford to have this tension in the country.
29/1/05 5:07 PM
Dark One,
Don't you think its healthy to openly discuss, criticize, and question what goes on around us? What would have the world turned into if everyone turned a blind eye and just did their own thing. Questioning doesn't make you a non believer, and it doen't make you a bad muslim. It opens your mind to alternative ideas and I really believe it'll make us better people.
When we become so afraid of anything thats different, I think we become very simple minded & limited people..and we're better than that. Right?
29/1/05 5:16 PM
Back to the important subject at hand:
Dark One - the alcohol you're offering.. that still up for grabs?

I also thought that an Islamic salon was pathetic and that using religion to promote anything is totally shameless. But after having read some intolerant pervert's comment, I beg to differ.
ابو whatever..
The prophet's wives' private parts are none of your beezwax. I'm aware لا حياء في الدين and that people like, say me, for example, would have to ask some day.. But why the heck would a creep like you ask.
Shame on you for using the wives of the prophet (PBUH) as objects of ridicule.
Oh and one more thing,
I just met a Kuwaiti woman, a daughter of one of the most well-known, rich families in Kuwait, who's here in KSA solely for طلب العلم.
No, none other than pure wahabist, hanbaly knowledge. ( I know how Zaydoun loves that)
الصحوة الدينية is in Kuwait and is apparently in for a stay.
Zaydoun, get over it already! Ya rabeeh..ta3ayashoo..and if you hate them, then just expect them to hate you back..you aren't getting anywhere bud...
2/2/05 11:23 AM
I don't hate them at all. My boss has a beard and short dishdasha and he's one of the nicest, most brilliant people I've ever met.. I have family members who are Islamist and I get along with them very well.
I do however resent the fact that THE ONES IN POWER have managed to silence any voice they don't agree with, and are trying to ram their thoughts and lifestyles down our throats by taking over our educational system and our media airwaves, and making life miserable for all.
2/2/05 11:39 AM
Shocker! You reply?
I guess my other comments weren't very respectful (I apologize).
You know at first I was armed to answer back. I was ready to burst. But then I thought about it. I resent being told that I'm wrong (just because my opinions may differ) So, I guess I can imagine your frustration. But then again, the folks at the salon don't really look like people who were up to silencing the likes of you. They were just merely people who wanted to make a profit through Islam. (Religion and Sex. Both of them get things selling like hot potatoes)
As for the Islamists in power, I just believe that if the both of you can be more tolerant, life would be better for both parties. We don't have much of a liberal community here. Since our Islamists are much more powerful than yours, we learned to tolerate. We're doing okay and by showing them the right kind of respect we're slowly (kind of) forcing tolerance upon them as well. If you fight fire with fire you're never going to get anywhere
For example, the remarks posted up there regarding some of the most cherished women in Islamic history, is not in anyway civilized and could just as well be called barbaric and pathetic. It would only further enrage the Islamists. If this is the liberals approach at arguing about their rights, then that's probably where they're going wrong..
As for you guys,
I don't know, I actually think I support a secular Kuwait. Oh yeah, Kudos to all you people. You guys seriously have no religious responsibilities to live up to. ( and I never mean to say this in a bad way, you are relieved) Here in KSA[and in cities like Medina and Mecca]we get European, American, African, Asian and even Kuwaiti immigrants (yes they even actually call themselves "muhajereen") who come here exclusively seeking religious asylum.
If we stop letting Islamists take over, we'd be giving up on our own religious responsibilities.
(LOL, have no clue why I felt the need to say that.) I guess, I was just kind of fed up with all the references to KSA as the God forsaken medieval country of the millennium, with a population mostly made up of cavemen, nomads, and Bedouins.
We have our reasons.
